Behati Prinsloo is a Namibian model. Prinsloo was born in Grootfontein, Namibia, which was then part of South West Africa to Boet Prinsloo and Magda Prinsloo
Her father Boet Prinsloo had been assigned to work in South Africa before she was born, but her family returned to Namibia when she was three years old.
Behati Prinsloo is the only child of church minister Boet Prinsloo and Magda who owns a bed and breakfast.
Behati’s family is Afrikaner, and she grew up speaking Afrikaans as her first language, though she was later educated in English.
Behati Prinsloo’s modeling career began when she was discovered while on vacation with her grandparents in Cape Town.
“After church, we went to the grocery store, and this guy approached me and asked if I was a model, and he wrote his phone number on a piece of paper.”
In 2008, she signed on as a Pink contract model, and in 2009, she was named a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
She walked in ten Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows (2007-2015; 2018) and opened two consecutive shows in 2014 and 2015.
